Manual Machinist - Laser Cladding

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team based in Henderson WA. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of our work with a specific focus on laser cladding and manually finishing parts following laser cladding. 

The ideal candidate is someone with experience in laser cladding or metal spray technologies. This individual will need to be a self-motivated, adaptable as the job requires, a team player but also able to work independently!

 

Key responsibilities for the role:

• Plan and setup machines in the most efficient way to reduce set up times and achieve maximum productivity.
• Carry out machining of components as per drawings and client's requirements.
• Monitor / improve tooling parameters as well as cutting conditions on running jobs.
• Operate laser cladding machinery
• Liaise with project managers, laser cladding team members and wider workshop team to ensure works are complete to a high quality and within agreed time frames. 
• Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements and complete reports accordingly.
• Liaise with management regarding upcoming, ongoing & completed jobs and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality.

 

Skills and experience required:

• Experience with laser cladding or metal spray technologies and high level of proficiency in manual turning highly desirable. 
• Be able to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
• Relevant trade qualification.
• High level of accuracy and attention details.
• Willingness to participate within a high-performance customer-oriented team.
• Obey and respect company management and safety systems.
