Passive Fire Applicator

Adelaide Fire Protection and Coatings is one of South Australia’s leading passive fire installation companies. 

Specialising in the application of Vermiculite sprays, Fire protection board and Intumescent paints, throughout the commercial construction industry in south Australia.

Located at Gepps cross our jobs range mostly within the city urban limits with occasional travel in Regional Areas.

We are seeking multiple Full-time Passive Fire spray specialists who have vermiculite and or intumescent paint experience.

You will have a great eye for detail to ensure consistent application which adequately protects the structures to meet client and building code needs.

You will also need to be enthusiastic, have good communication and excellent time management skills, and be a proactive self-starter.

This position is a full-time role All uniform supplied as well as onsite learning and training to develop your career in the passive fire industry.

The primary duties will include: 

Vermiculite spraying

• Working within a team to apply vermiculite spray to structural steel.
• Masking up to protect building elements from overspray.
• Manning and monitoring the vermiculite pump.
• General labouring and site cleanup

Fire Board Installation

• Working within a team to install fire protection board to structural steel.
• Measuring and cutting
• Use of power tools (saws, drills, compressed air tools)
• Application of sealant/Caulking

Intumescent Paint

• Electronic measurement reading and documentation.
• preparation of steel members prior to spraying
• Masking up to protect from overspray.
• Application of intumescent paint by way of commercial spray pumps and occasional hand application
• Cleaning and maintenance of spray units.

Essential requirements

• Previous on-site experience in the commercial construction industry 
• White card
• Drivers license - Able to drive a manual vehicle
• Able to work overtime if required
• Power tool experience
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced working environment
• Must pass a pre employment medical
• Forklift licence is an advantage but not essential
• Police check required (Not mandatory)
• DCSI clearance  (Not mandatory)
