Mac City Pty Ltd in Dandenong South, VIC is seeking a full time Motor Mechanic who is dedicated and dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment. The successful candidate needs to have a strong mechanical background, keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in automotive servicing and repairs.

Job Type: Permanent full-time

Hours: 38h p/w (Monday to Friday)

Annual Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00

Location ; Dandenong South, Victoria 3715.

Task & Responsibilities

Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
Dismantling and removing engine assembles, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed.
Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
May respond to vehicle breakdown services calls.

Qualification & Experience

Qualifications

Minimum of a relevant Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, repairs or technology, or equivalent in substantial experience ( a Certificate iii and 2 years experience of experience will suffice, or 3 years of experience for those without a qualification.

Experience Requirement

At least 3 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic

Essential Skills and Requirements

Demonstrated light vehicle repair, service and maintenance skills including a solid understanding of petrol engines, suspension, transmission, steering and braking systems.
Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicles service manuals.
Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines are met.
Excellent customer service skills including the ability to effectively communicate
Passion for your trade.
