Task & Responsibilities

As a Motor Mechanic (General), your duties will include:

• Fault Detection and Diagnosis: Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and vehicle parts using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Component Maintenance: Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, inspecting parts for wear and damage, and checking functionality.
• Repairs and Replacements: Repairing or replacing worn or defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, and ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines.
• Routine Maintenance Services: Conducting oil changes, engine tune-ups, lubrications, and other scheduled maintenance tasks to optimize vehicle performance and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
• Engine and Component Reassembly: Reassembling engines and components after repair, ensuring proper installation and alignment.
• Performance Testing and Adjustments: Testing and adjusting mechanical systems post-repair to guarantee optimal performance.
• Computer-Assisted Diagnostics: Using computerized equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze vehicle performance issues.
• Vehicle Inspections and Certification: Inspecting vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or outlining necessary repairs for roadworthiness compliance.
• Compliance with Safety Standards: Ensuring all tasks meet occupational safety regulations and manufacturer standards.
