6 - 9 months maternity leave cover Potential for extension or permanency Family or student friendly flexible hours available (min 24 hrs p/wk) Castle Hill location with on-site parking Early October start   About Austest Austest Laboratories is Australia’s leading testing facility providing engineering test and certification services to industries such as defence, aerospace, rail, automotive and medical.    About the Role This unique role combines administrative duties alongside hands-on technical tasks, offering a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to expand their skillset well beyond the traditional office-based role.  While core responsibilities are focused on providing the engineering team with effective and efficient administrative support, this role will also assist with more operational tasks including preparing and assisting with basic mechanical/environmental testing, compiling of test reports and selected maintenance tasks.  Key responsibilities will include:   Customer care – triaging and responding to enquiries, quote preparation, first point of contact for visiting clients and stakeholders Database management, data entry and processing (technical documentation) Basic report writing Filing and management of job folders Equipment coordination (tracking & logistics, calibration and maintenance schedules) Coordination of travel arrangements for off-site work Set-up and execution of environmental (mechanical and climatic) tests Organisation of promotional activities (seminars, presentations, trade shows)   About You Our ideal candidate will be a highly organised administrator who is also willing and able to perform hands-on tasks using basic mechanical tools.  Training will be provided on the technical aspects of the role; however, you will have the capability to easily grasp basic engineering concepts and principles.  You will love being part of a close-knit team and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office administration role (preferably within a technical, engineering or scientific area).  An assertive and confident individual, you will also have:   A commitment to providing excellent customer service Clear communication skills (written and verbal) A methodical and well-organised approach to your work A high level of attention to detail The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Strong computer literacy (proficient in Microsoft Office)   Please note that it is a requirement of this role to provide evidence of the right to work in Australia.  Only candidates with FULL working rights will be considered.   If this sounds like an opportunity you’re looking for, click APPLY now!  Applications MUST include a resume and cover letter which addresses capability of undertaking the technical aspects of this role.  We process applications as they are received and therefore interviews may take place while the role is still being advertised.   Austest is an Equal Opportunity Employer and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce.
