El Jannah is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Asset & Maintenance Manager to oversee the effective management, maintenance and operational efficiency of all physical assets across the Melbourne Franchise operation.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to ensure the franchise’s assets are well maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and operate at optimal performance levels. The Asset & Maintenance Manager will be pivotal in planning, coordinating and executing new restaurant openings to ensure they are launched successfully, on time and to restaurant safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy – Develop, and maintain asset management strategies, policies, procedures, and plans in alignment with SPG goals, relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.

Budget – Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget for all restaurants, ensuring all expenditures are tracked and within budgetary constraints. Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs without compromising on quality or safety.

Compliance – Ensure restaurants are compliant with building codes, policies, processes and procedures.

Bring to life – Drive and support the implementation of strategic asset management plans and policies.

Prevention – Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of equipment and infrastructure.

Asset Management – Maintain a comprehensive asset register for all restaurants, ensuring all equipment, assets, and infrastructure are accurately recorded and regularly audited.

Reporting – Manage the collection and analysis of property data, including asset condition, lifecycle management, and procurement processes. Provide detailed reports and forecasts to support decision-making and budget planning

Refurbishment and Upgrades – Develop and manage maintenance schedules for asset refurbishment and upgrades, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and industry best practices. Monitor project progress and manage variations.

Audits – Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, and restaurant safety standards are being met, to ensure a safe working environment.

Collaborate with stakeholders – to understand business needs, restaurant requirements, and align with Company initiatives.

Provide leadership and guidance – to stakeholders on asset and maintenance protocols and regulations to ensure compliance.

Organise and conduct – training to Restaurant Managers and the Operations team to ensure they are skilled in the latest maintenance techniques and safety protocol.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in a multisite environment. QSR/Hospitality advantageous.
- 3+ years’ experience in asset management, maintenance management, or facilities management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management or qualified trade person (Electrician, plumber, carpenter).
- Demonstrate Alignment with El Jannah’s core values, policies and guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment lifecycle management and compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of local and state regulations and legislation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
