About the role 

Are you a qualified APO based in Perth looking for consistent hours on a 2-week on / one week off FIFO swing? RAMS are seeking qualified Aviation Protection Officers for a 12-month contract at Learmonth Airport. Included are airfares and accommodation in Exmouth, plus transport to and from Learmonth Airport.

What you’ll be doing

With a significant increase in passenger traffic over the next 6 to 8 months due to offshore and onshore constructions, Learmonth will have double daily flights to and from Perth.

The Airport Screening Officers must be able to perform all functions of the screening point at Learmonth Airport using multi-view x-ray technology including CBS as detailed in the position description. You’ll also get to learn and assist in helicopter passenger processing for something a little different.

 

 

Skills and Experience 

• Minimum 1 year experience in an Airport Screening Officer position at either a regional or capital city airport.
• Customer focus towards all terminal users, airport contractors and tenants.
• Maintain x-ray Threat Image Projection (TIP) screener statistics in excess of 75%.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Have effective problem-solving skills suitable for work in remote locations and a high-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication (written, verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Be self-motivated and decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.

 

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

• Aviation/Airport screening experience.
• AVI20118 Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (or similar) that meets the ATSR.
• Current annual screener accreditation training under the CISC Screener Accreditation Scheme.
• Have (or be able to hold) and be able to maintain an ASIC.
• Must be based in Western Australia and able to fly from Perth Airport to meet the roster.
• Valid permanent Australian Work Rights.
