Are you an accomplished artisan baker with a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for the science of sourdough, natural fermentation, and freshly milled flour?  Come and be part  a small team and oversee daily bread production in our vibrant Lake Street bakery. 

Founded in 2019, in a diverse urban neighbourhood just a 15-minute walk from Perth's central transport hub, Miller and Baker has quickly become a cornerstone of the community.

We have a devoted following of bread, pastry and coffee loving customers, 7 days a week, as well as regional customers who travel far for our loaves.

We take pride in our collaborations with Perth’s most innovative chefs, providing them with exceptional sourdough to enhance their award-winning menus.

We are a global movement of bakeries revitalising the tradition of onsite milling with a 90" New American Stonemill. We work closely with WA farmers who are global leaders in sustainable agriculture, ensuring our ingredients are both high-quality and environmentally responsible.

 

What we're looking for in our new team member:

You must have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role and possess a keen interest in the science and tradition of sourdough baking. You will be dedicated to consistently high standards,  and excited about using fresh, local ingredients, including freshly milled Western Australian flour.

Your Tasks Will Include

• Responsibility for the daily production of various doughs and breads, including preparing, mixing, and baking sourdough loaves and specialty breads according to calculated weekly numbers and wholesale orders.
• Collaborating with other bakery sections (e.g., Pastry team, Front of House, Milling) to share space, ingredients, and labour.

Using your creativity and drawing on your experience to develop new loaves and specialty breads.

• Working with the management team to promote and enhance the Miller + Baker brand.
• Contributing to the creation and maintenance of bakery procedures and policies for efficiency, profitability and safety.
