As a Technical Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for the installation, connection, and maintenance of cables to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.

We are seeking a Cable Repairer to work out of our Mackay operation on a full-time basis.

OSOS (Onshore Offshore) Global Services provide construction, maintenance and decarbonisation services to the resources, energy, infrastructure, industrial and agriculture sectors.  You will be responsible for…  • Perform welding tasks with precision and quality, particularly for cable ladders. • Install and secure cable ladders according to project specifications. • Work at heights safely, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. • Ensure compliance with RIO Tinto safety and worksite standards. • Inspect, maintain, and repair fabricated components as needed. • Read and interpret technical drawings and plans related to cable ladder installations. • Collaborate with other team members to achieve project deadlines efficiently. • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.   What we need from you: • Valid RIO induction certificate. • Experience and certification in Working at Heights. • Proven experience in welding and installation of cable ladders. • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, particularly in mining and industrial environments. • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and drawings. • Physical fitness to perform tasks at heights and in various weather conditions. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.   Certificates and Training: • Additional certifications in welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG). • Familiarity with industrial standards for cable management systems. • Previous experience working on RIO Tinto sites or similar industrial projects. • Ability to operate lifting equipment or other related tools.
