We are looking for a skilled Motor Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles. You will troubleshoot and repair engine, cooling, fuel, braking, steering, and transmission systems, perform routine maintenance, and ensure all work meets industry regulations and safety standards. The role also involves handling hazardous materials, minimizing waste, and providing technical reports, estimates, and parts quotations. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in automotive repair, a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Task & Responsibilities

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Equipment and tooling are identified and checked for safe and effective use
  • Hazards in relation to machinery and equipment are reported to supervisor or nominated persons
  • Unsafe situations are recognised and reported according to worksite policy
  • Dangerous goods and substances are identified, handled and stored according to worksite policy and procedures and OH&S requirements
  • Diagnosis strategy is developed that can be used to determine a fault within the component/equipment
  • Differentiate between symptoms & causes and Identify fault diagnosis as a process.
  • Identification of faults are made from test results
  • Inspections are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, OH&S legislation, legislation and enterprise procedures/policies
  • Environmental responsibilities of staff in an automotive mechanical workplace or business are identified
  • Waste is minimised, waste material, including sludge; solids and other wastes are sorted and stored in bins for recycling or disposal
  • Monitor and avoid hazards to air quality &vehicle exhausts and emissions are minimised and not permitted to collect in the workplace
  • Material, components, tooling and equipment to complete work are identified, selected and prepared in accordance with site procedures operation

  • Workplace documents are completed in accordance with enterprise procedures

  • Test fuel systems and analyse results
  • Repair petrol fuel system components
  • Repair and replace emission control systems and/or associated components
  • Technical and/or adjustment requirements for inspection, servicing and repair of clutch assemblies are sourced and support equipment is identified and prepared
  • Prepare to undertake testing of manual transmission
  • Methods for repairs are implemented in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer/component supplier specifications
  • Technical and/or calibration requirements for braking system repairs are sourced and support equipment is identified and prepared
  • Repair brake systems and/or associated components
  • Conduct final drive assembly tests and analyse results
  • Test driveline and analyse results
  • Methods for system tests are implemented in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer/component supplier specifications
  • Petrol fuel system components service is completed without causing damage to any component or system
  • Inspection is implemented in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer/ component supplier specifications
  • To identify and system faults and perform plain and complex operations to resolve the faults.
  • Carry out analysis and evaluation of petrol and gas system faults
  • Carry Out all mechanical repairs according environmental regulations in the mechanical repair industry.
  • Carry out work on steering and suspension systems fault on all types of light vehicles
  • Carry out work and analysis on break systems faults of all types of light vehicles
  • Diagnosis and cary out work on fuel systems of all types of light vehicles.
  • Diagnosis and Carry out work on transmission of all types light vehicles.
  • Assist in Develop and apply of mechanical systems modification  
  • Develop and apply modifications of hydraulie systems.  
  • Prepare technical reports, quotations and invoices.  
  • Provide Estimation of carry out work and parts.  
  • Develop and document specifications and procedures 
  • Carry out work n repair on electric braking systems 
  • Assemble and fit braking systems/components 
  • Carry out all repair work according to new and updated technology  
  • Carry out major and minor service (changing oil, oil filter, air filter, viper blades, etc) on all types of light vehicles.  
  • Use all kind of concerned hand and mechanical tools to do and complete the repair of all mechanical jobs.

Qualification & Experience
  • Relevant Certification or Diploma in Automotive Studies.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing automotive cooling systems.
  • Proficient in performing routine maintenance and inspections on various vehicles.
  • Experience in exhaust, brake, and mechanical repairs.
