As a Fixed Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks on fixed plant equipment within a hard rock mine processing plant. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant operations through preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and timely repair of mechanical components and systems.

Key Responsibilities.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on fixed plant equipment, including crushers, drinding mills, conveyor systems, pressure filters, pumps and ancillary components.

• Diagnose faults and perform troubleshooting for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

• Ensure compliance with Site’s health, safety and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to communicate work priorities, challenges, and progress.

• Maintain tools, workshop facilities, and equipment in good working order.

• Accurately document maintenance activities and report issues or delays impacting task completion.

• Provide training and guidance to apprentices or less experienced personnel.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting, equivalent discipline.

• Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance in the mining industry.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems.

• High attention to detail with effective problem-solving and time management skills.

• Working rights in Australia.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with SAP or similar maintenance management systems.

• Mobile equipment operation tickets (e.g., forklift, EWP, gantry crane, rigging, franna).

• Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets.
