About the Role

We are looking for a passionate gardener to care and develop the homestead complex and surrounds at our Wonga Plains aggregation. The role involves a wide range of duties, including the maintenance and development of landscapes, horticultural displays, open spaces, and property infrastructure, ensuring that all gardens and grounds are presented and maintained to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the condition and appearance of lawns and grounds by undertaking a variety of gardening and horticultural activities

• Grow and maintain plants, implement soil improvements, identify plant diseases, and apply appropriate management measures

• Develop landscape design and horticultural displays

• Contribute to the development and installation of irrigation systems

• Take care of the general presentation of the homestead and surrounding houses on property

• Follow WHS policies and maintain a safe work environment

• Purchase materials and account for costs through systems such as purchase orders

• Work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating time management and multi-tasking skills

About You

• A passionate gardener keen on growing and developing landscapes

• Significant experience in landscape design in the nursery, forestry or agricultural industry

• Demonstrated experience and high-level knowledge of Australian native plants, annuals, and perennials, with the ability to apply this knowledge practically

• Experience and competency operating machinery used in the  horticultural industry  such as construction, landscape design

• Willing to learn new practices and achieve goals in a cost-effective manner

• Demonstrated skills and experience in planning, prioritising and multi-tasking in a time efficient manner in a  independent environment as well as working in a team in a supportive way
