The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. The role involves both preventative maintenance and repair tasks, requiring a strong technical background, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail. You will also be expected to use computerized diagnostic tools and provide high-quality workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.

Task & Responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle systems.
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other mechanical components for inspection.
• Repair or replace worn, defective, or malfunctioning parts and components.
• Perform routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, engine tune-ups, and lubrication tasks, to enhance vehicle performance and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Reassemble engines and mechanical systems after repair or servicing.
• Test and adjust mechanical parts and systems to verify repairs and ensure proper performance.
• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot faults and assess vehicle systems.
• May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or provide a list of repairs required for compliance.

Qualification & Experience

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to interpret service manuals and technical data.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
