Melwood Joinery is looking for either an experienced or a junior Joinery Set Out / Drafter to join our drafting team of two, based in our Braeside factory. We are an energetic company with a modern culture full of enjoyment and a positive atmosphere. We are rapidly becoming a prime selection and key player within the commercial construction and fit out space so opportunity and potential for growth has never been higher.

Melwood specialises in commercial joinery focusing on Office Fit Out's & Education projects. We are proud of the work we provide to such key sectors of society and would hope our new team member would carry the same outlook.

About the position:

• Interpret drawings from architects

• Liaise with architect's and builders 

• Continue to work on efficiencies within the drafting area of the business 

• Be a great team player and be able to work with others

• Have a VERY keen eye for detail 

• Provide detailed drawings in AutoCAD and in Microvellum for joinery shop drawings and construction drawings 

• Provide detailed and accurate material lists 

• Liaise with production and project management to achieve project requirement.

• Liaise with factory team to help design better more efficient construction methods 

• Communicating and working with the manufacturing team to prepare for on site installation.

• Be able to process in accordance with site measurements provided by project management teams

• Help build on MV libraries 

• Previous experience with AutoCAD / Microvellum is essential
