About the role

Temmco Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team based in Rutherford, NSW. This is a casual role, with the potential to become full time, offering the flexibility to work when and where you're needed most. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing critical machinery for our clients located across Australia within the onsite machining division.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out Machinist duties at our workshop & various sites across Australia

• Performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of industrial machinery and equipment

• Troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions

• Analyzing drawings, schematics and technical manuals to guide your work

• Collaborating with the wider engineering team to ensure optimal equipment performance

• Adhering to all health, safety and quality standards to protect yourself and our clients

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar hands-on, technical role

• Onsite machining experience or willing to learn

• Experience in Power station's beneficial but not required

• Strong working knowledge of industrial machinery, tools and equipment

• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, drawings and manuals

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of your work

• Flexible and adaptable approach to managing varied priorities and deadlines

• Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team

• Relevant tickets. E.g. Confined space & working at heights within 2 years, forklift, dogging & rigging.

Essential requirements of the role

• Trades Certificate – Mechanical Trade

• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and fabrication solutions

• Work history in a similar environment

• Exceptional safety standards

• Time management and ability to prioritize competing demands

• Ability to maintain high work standards with minimal supervision

• Ability to problem solve and show a high level of initiative

• Ability to read and interpret drawings

• Respect for your team

• Work away from home for extended periods (1-8 weeks approximately) and at times short notice
