Task & responsibilities

  • Identifying mechanical problems by inspecting key vehicle parts and systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
  • Fixing or replacing defective vehicle parts, such as engines, transmissions, and steering systems.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, like oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and brake servicing, to keep vehicles running smoothly.
  • Checking parts such as alternators, starters, and batteries to confirm proper functionality.
  • Conducting diagnostic tests with specialized tools to ensure the vehicle is operating correctly after repairs or service.
  • Utilizing various hand and power tools to take apart, repair, and reassemble vehicle components.
  • Ensuring all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed according to safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Engaging with clients to explain vehicle issues, available repair options, pricing, and expected timelines.
  • Keeping detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and services performed for reference and warranty purposes.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing essential vehicle systems such as engines, transmissions, and braking systems to ensure they function optimally and safely.
  • Keeping up with the latest advancements in vehicle technology, repair methods, and diagnostic tools to improve efficiency and expertise.
  • Removing, replacing, and repairing worn or damaged mechanical components, and carefully reassembling them according to manufacturer specifications and technical manuals.
  • Performing thorough vehicle inspections and providing detailed assessments of repairs needed to meet roadworthiness and compliance standards.
  • Responding to emergency breakdown calls and providing on-site support to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively.


Qualification & experience

  • A Certificate III or Certificate IV or higher qualification in Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of current mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Good communication skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Possess strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of workplace safety procedures.
