Task & Responsibilities

Responsibility:

Maintains, tests and repairs petrol engines and the mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes. Registration or licensing may be required.

Duties:

• Vehicle Inspection and Fault Identification: Perform diagnostic scans on lightweight vehicles to identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults. Analyze the performance of petrol engines and other mechanical systems using specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Repairs and Replacements: Implement corrective maintenance procedures to repair or replace malfunctioning vehicle components.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements.
• Vehicle Road Testing and Roadworthiness Assurance: Perform comprehensive road tests on vehicles post-repair or maintenance to verify roadworthiness and efficient operation.

Qualification & Experience

Qualifications:

• AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training.

Experience

• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing air conditioning systems in light vehicles.
