Vulcanic TEE is currently seeking an experienced and driven Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the design, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and process plant systems. The successful candidate will play an integral role in improving our manufacturing operations, enhancing efficiency, and maintaining our reputation for excellence in custom solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

As an industrial engineer, you assess, and analyse the use of personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials, along with existing operational processes and procedures, to suggest improvements that enhance operational efficiency across various commercial, industrial, and manufacturing settings.

• Analyse project data, including functional statements and organisational charts, to define job roles and responsibilities and identify potential areas for improvement or redundancy.
• Develop and implement work measurement programs to analyse and optimise labour utilisation, ensuring the most efficient use of resources.
• Examine operational data, facility layouts, production schedules, and costs to enhance worker and equipment efficiency.
• Design and develop mechanical equipment, machines, components, and plant systems, ensuring that all specifications meet manufacturing and construction requirements.
• Create detailed specifications, including material selection, equipment, piping, and system layouts, ensuring that plant systems are optimised for production.
• Oversee the coordination of project labour, material deliveries, and plant/equipment installation to ensure smooth project execution.
• Develop and enforce standards and policies for the installation, modification, testing, inspection, and maintenance of plant systems, in accordance with engineering principles and safety standards.
• Conduct inspections of plant equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Lead the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, ensuring that regular maintenance schedules are adhered to, and new design requirements are incorporated into the ongoing maintenance plan.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher education, in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial engineering, with a strong background in mechanical design and process optimisation.
• Have been employed in the occupation for at least 3 years on a full-time basis and at the level of skill required for the occupation.
• Familiarity with the manufacturing industry, especially in sectors such as HVAC&R, Mining, Oil and Gas.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess operational data, evaluating information, complex problem solving skills and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement. 
• Proficiency in designing mechanical systems and components for manufacturing and construction.
• A commitment to adhering to quality assurance standards and safety regulations in all aspects of engineering operations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and motivate the team, liaise, and collaborate with other departments and management personnel.
• Ability to lead by example - displaying a common sense, practical, hardworking, hands-on, and ethical attitude.
• Personal qualities in keeping with the company culture such as customer focused, technically orientated, dedicated, unified, and autonomous.
