Are you an experienced plumbing professional ready to take the next step in your career? Join Toowoomba Regional Council as a Plumbing Inspector, where you’ll play a critical role in protecting community health and ensuring high-quality plumbing and drainage standards across our region.
About You
You bring a strong knowledge of plumbing and drainage systems and understand the ins and outs of the Plumbing and Drainage Act. You enjoy working with people, solving problems, and ensuring compliance in a respectful and constructive way. You're known for your sound judgement, technical insight, and attention to detail.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assess and process plumbing permit applications
- Conduct inspections of plumbing and drainage works
- Ensure compliance with legislation and Council policies
- Identify and manage non-compliant works, including issuing notices
- Provide expert advice and technical support to stakeholders
- Prepare reports and compliance documentation
- Support continuous improvement of internal processes

What You’ll Need
- Relevant industry experience or background in plumbing inspections
- Understanding of local government processes (highly regarded)
- White Card (or ability to obtain before starting)
- Current 'C' Class Driver’s Licence
- Ability to complete backflow, on-site/soil assessments, and solar/heat pump accreditation within 12 months
