About The Role

RAM Security Locksmiths is seeking an experienced, hands on Store Person and Purchasing Officer to join our team in Dandenong. This full time position is crucial in overseeing all purchasing activities, supplier coordination, stock control and logistics. Communication and maintaining strong relationships will be the key to success.

What You Will Be Doing

• Work collaboratively with the team on daily tasks including inventory control, order fulfilment and stock replenishment.

• Perform manual tasks such as loading and unloading goods, packing items for dispatch, and replenishing stock on the showroom floor. These tasks will require the safe operation of a forklift and electric and manual pallet jacks.

• Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of materials, components and finished goods to ensure the timely supply for production and sales in a trades business.

• Implement and monitor inventory control systems to optimise stock levels and minimise waste.

• Coordinate logistics and deliveries and expediting parts according to project delivery schedules and customer requirements.

• Complete regular stock takes of all inventory including the on-road vans.

• Analyse purchasing data, identifying trends or irregularities to assist with future purchases.

• Negotiate with suppliers to ensure materials, equipment and services provided are best value.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 2 years experience in a stock management role, ideally in the trades industry.

• Must thrive in a fast paced environment where organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities is essential.

• Prior experience coordinating deliveries and logistics.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

• Be physically capable of performing manual tasks.

• Must hold a forklift licence (or be willing to obtain one) and be able to operate both manual and electric pallet jacks.
