We are seeking a skilled and dependable Motor Mechanic to join our dedicated team at our fully equipped, in-house workshop in Truganina, VIC. This is a hands-on role focused on the servicing, maintenance, and repair of our large fleet of trucks and trailers. As part of our workshop team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our heavy vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, preferably in diesel engines and heavy commercial vehicles, and be capable of working both independently and within a collaborative team environment. You’ll be responsible for conducting scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and urgent repairs across a variety of truck models and trailer types. Your expertise will help minimise vehicle downtime, support roadworthiness compliance, and keep our fleet operating at peak efficiency. A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a similar motor mechanic role is required. Task & Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on heavy vehicles (trucks and trailers)
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in fleet vehicles
• Carry out engine, brake, steering, suspension, and transmission repairs
• Record work performed and maintain maintenance logs
• Assist in managing workshop parts inventory
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with fleet managers to prioritize urgent repairs

Qualification & Experience

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a heavy vehicle or diesel mechanic
• Strong understanding of truck and trailer mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail
• HC licence (desirable but not essential)
• Positive Skill Assessment for the nominated position
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in truck/trailer or heavy vehicle mechanics
