Skills and Attributes:

Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules.
Have adequate verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in metal shaping, welding, and fabrication techniques.
Solid understanding of frame alignment, and structural repair principles.
Effective communication skills for team collaboration and customer interactions.
Commitment to safety practices and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Familiarity with body filler application, sanding, and surface preparation for paint.

Task & Responsibilities

Responsibility:

Repairs damage to metal, fibreglass and plastic body work on vehicles and forms replacement vehicle panels. Registration or licensing may be required.

Duties:

Damage Assessment & Repair:

Assess vehicle damage in collaboration with the estimator.
Repair metal, fiberglass, and plastic bodywork.
Remove damaged panels and straighten bent frames.
Manufacture and fit replacement vehicle panels.
Fill depressions with body filler and smooth surfaces for a seamless finish.

Workshop Operations & Equipment Use:

Utilize workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
Continuously enhance knowledge of equipment use and maintenance.

Assembly & Quality Control:

Weld and fit replacement panels.
Reassemble vehicle parts after repairs.
Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to ensure high repair standards.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the team to deliver precise, high-quality vehicle repairs.

Qualification & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Certificate III (or equivalent), including at least two years of on-the-job training,
OR Certificate IV (or Equivalent)

Experience:

At least three years of relevant experience.
