Task & Responsibilities

The Plant & Equipment Engineer specific responsibilities, accountabilities and duties include:

• Provide technical support for the engineering of new specialised plant & equipment.
• Monitor, analyse and maintain, construction assets & systems.
• Make recommendation on how to improve technologies, systems and processes.
• Develop, pilot, implement and maintain systems to improve financial, quality and technical outcomes for plant and equipment projects.
• In consultation with the VSA Plant & Equipment Manager, propose asset disposals or replacement as per utilisation, age, and efficiency of each asset.
• Manage, evaluate, and report on specific development projects: safety systems, tracking etc.
• Maintain information systems to ensure IBMS quality requirements are met.
• Assist with reporting, monitoring and analysis of plant and equipment data, using the information to improve technologies, practices, procedures and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with the Business Managers, VSA Plant & Equipment Manager, VSA Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with NHVR fatigue and mass management.
• Aid the VSA Plant & Equipment Manager, Business Unit Workshop Managers to obtain and maintain relevant workshop accreditations, and to facilitate further upgrade of all Business Unit workshops in relation to the internal programs.
• Assist the VSA Plant & Equipment Manager with specific fixed and mobile plant, equipment and projects across the VSA Group such as:
• Industry specific equipment projects
  o Energy efficiency projects
  o Capital Works projects
  o Facilitate the lease or purchase of specialised plant and equipment with dealerships and manufacturers.
• Ensure accurate recording, analysis and reporting of project & fleet related costs.
  Ensure reliable and accurate invoices are developed, captured and maintained in fleet management systems.
• Produce timely and accurate reports; yearly and quarterly reporting on plant and equipment utilisation across the Group businesses.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis of the fleet and workshops performance.
• Assist with the preparation of CAPEX for new capital plans over the short and medium term.

You must be able to work flexible hours to meet operational requirements, some weekend work maybe required.
