Sidelink Transport is one of Victoria`s fastest growing wharf transport companies. Located in Truganina in Melbourne west, Sidelink boast one of the largest fleet of Sideloaders in Melbourne as well as a variety of standard trailers and HPFV Combinations.

We are currently seeking an individual experienced in the wharf transport industry, with strong knowledge of the Melbourne suburban area, preferably with previous experience in Fleet operations.

Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, the primary objective of the role is to co-ordinate all fleet deliveries and collections, to and from clients, ensuring that client bookings are met on time and all client needs for deliveries being met.

Responsibilities include:

• Daily running of fleet. 
• Liasing with drivers, reorganisation of runs, and close monitoring of fleet progress by either GPS, management system, or phone to make sure all fleet demands are met and procedures followed.
• Liaising with the Scheduler/Transport Manager to ensure all client/company demands and bookings are met as required.
• Liaising with customer service reps to ensure client requests are met, and keeping them informed of delays/issues.
• Booking of slots on ContainerChain.
• Manifesting vehicles through 1-stop system when required.
• Updating Sidelink operating system (Freight Tracker) accurately, with all driver movements.

The successful candidate must have:

• Extensive knowledge of suburban Melbourne required.
• Experience of wharf transport industry essential.
• Experience with 1-stop, Containerchain and Freight Tracker systems preferred.
• Experience with Fleet Locate and Matchbox Exchange advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Victorian mass and dimension limits.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously and work in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Workplace health and safety.
• Attention to detail.
• Patience and perseverance to deal with ongoing changes and time consuming problems.
• Coming to work with the attitude of wanting to do a good job, and improve every day is paramount.

Hours

5.00am – 3.00pm, or 6.00am – 4.00pm, Mon-Friday (1 in every 4 Saturday rotation)
