About the Role
Malvern Auto Services is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team, with a particular focus on Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles. You will have access to industry-leading diagnostic tools including Xentry Diagnosis Pad 2, WIS, TIPS, ASRA, and Webparts to carry out servicing, diagnostics, and light to medium repairs.
This is a lifestyle-friendly role, offering either a 4-day week (38 hours over 4 days) or a traditional 5-day work week depending on your preference.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Repair and replace worn or faulty parts, including engines, suspension, steering, brakes, and fuel systems
- Perform SCN coding and software updates using Xentry Diagnosis Pad 2
- Conduct road tests and inspections to confirm completed work
- Follow manufacturer service procedures and technical repair documentation
- Maintain accurate service records and job cards
- Ensure compliance with OH&S standards and workshop cleanliness
- Work independently and provide support to junior team members as required
Skills and Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- Minimum 24 months of full-time work experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic
- Prior experience with Mercedes-Benz vehicles highly regarded
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools (e.g. Xentry, Autologic, GScan, Autel)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Own basic tools
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Salary & Conditions
- Annual salary $80,000 – $95,000 depending on skills and experience
- Superannuation paid in addition to base salary
- Full-time permanent role (38 hours/week)
- Flexible hours available (4-day or 5-day week)
- Modern, well-equipped workshop with personal diagnostic equipment provided
