Yard Hand - Fleet Hire

About Us:
We are a leading fleet hire business, offering dry and wet hire services for heavy plant and equipment. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated and reliable Yard Hand to help ensure the smooth operation of our yard and fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the yard
• Carry out pre- and post-departure inspections of vehicles and equipment
• Ferry vehicles and equipment between job sites, ensuring safe and timely transportation
• Perform basic servicing, refueling, and cleaning of hire equipment
• Carry out minor paint repairs to equipment and machinery as required
• Load and unload machinery and equipment for hire and returns
• Organize and manage the storage of tools, machinery, and materials
• Use technology to log inspections, maintenance records, and track equipment status (tech-savvy skills preferred)
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Assist with stock control and inventory of hire equipment
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure equipment is ready for hire

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a yard hand, laboring, or similar role (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of heavy machinery or equipment handling is a bonus
• Forklift License (required) – Training can be provided
• MR (Medium Rigid) License (required) – Training can be provided
• Tech-savvy with the ability to use digital tools and apps for inspections and record-keeping
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Basic painting experience is a bonus
