About the Role
PremiAir has a permanent full-time position available for a hardworking and reliable Yard Person to join our busy team in our Newcastle (Thornton) depot.
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the main responsibility of the role is to prepare equipment ready for hire, coordinate assets through process and maintain the yard and storage areas. Deliver/collect of equipment as required.
Duties
The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:
Washing of returned equipment preparation ready for hire
Processing of equipment returns and assist with gathering and recording off hires information (refuel / hours used/damages etc)
Ensure returned from hire are refueled (if required) and entered on fuel log.
Assisting workshop staff with servicing and repairs
Keeping the yard clean and arranging equipment as needed
Must be available for flexible start and finish times
Must be available to work on a rotating after-hours, on-call roster
Other appropriate duties as directed
Ute deliveries and collection of rental equipment as required.
Skills and Experience
You must possess a strong sense of urgency with an "I will make it happen" attitude to get the job done. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A valid Forklift licence and White Card is required
MR or HR license is preferred but not essential to be considered for this position
Excellent driving record and safety focused and has previous experience making deliveries and towing/reversing trailers or equipment
Able to follow instructions and work unsupervised and pays attention to detail
Is self-motivated and takes pride in their work and has a great work ethic
Is reliable and punctual and has excellent work ethics
Is focused on providing the best service to our customers
Is capable of performing physical activities
Can work overtime, including weekends when needed
Previous experience and success in a similar role will be highly regarded, however, the successful applicants will be appointed primarily based on attitude and the desire to assist the business in the next phase of growth.
